W Reg - New Or Old Body?

Hi,

I just got asked whether my W Reg Galaxy had the new or old shape...how do I tell? I do remember that around that time the shape did change but how?

they did not change until x reg 2000.5

MK1's have a digital clock, glass rectangular head lights, seperate front indicators, oval grill, large reflective panel on rear hatch, digital clock, round speaker grills in doors, front cup holders on gear box hump

MK2's silly oval clock in dash ;) large plastic headlights incorporating indicators

flatted oval grill, ugly rear lights in rear hatch :lol: cup holders stuck in the dash above all the delicate eletrical equipment! ;)

Strange but true - there are a few W-reg facelifted models about - the change must have occurred just before the plate-change so most will probably be ex-Ford or dealer demo cars.

Look at the three pictures at the top of the page, the left and centre are the new Galaxy and the one on the right is the old.

 

My new model V6 had another 25bhp over the old one, its faster and it does about 10% more mpg, had 5 speed auto instead of 4 plus semi-manual changing, ESP and dual air conditioning.
